Most complications we see after laser or resurfacing are avoidable, and nearly all of them trace back to the same handful of aftercare mistakes.
Keep the barrier calm
For 72 hours use a gentle cleanser, a plain fragrance-free moisturiser and nothing else. Pause retinoids, exfoliating acids and vitamin C until the skin feels completely normal.
Heat matters as much as products. Skip hot showers, steam rooms, saunas and intense workouts for two to three days.
Sunscreen is not optional
Broad-spectrum SPF 50, reapplied through the day, is the single highest-return habit after any laser, peel or needling session. Freshly treated skin pigments easily, and that pigment is far harder to remove than it was to prevent.
A wide-brimmed hat and shade between 11am and 4pm do real work in a Lahore summer.
When to call us
Mild redness, warmth and light flaking are expected. Blistering, spreading pain, pus or fever are not — contact the clinic the same day.
You will always have a direct line to the team after a procedure. Use it early rather than waiting to see if something settles.
This article is general information, not medical advice. Treatment suitability is always confirmed in a consultation at our Bahria Town clinic.
